The Block is part of the remains of the old Port Shepstone harbour wall, and the mouth of the Umzimkulu River.

The Umzimkulu is a functioning estuary and many fish use the waters as spawning grounds and as a nursery.

Seasonal changes to water colour and temperature bring different fish through, and overall, there is always something exciting to target.

Some more noteworthy catches recently have been Zambezi Shark, Ox-eye Tarpon, salmon, kingfish and river snapper.
