Murphy’s Woodside Pond, located just outside Thorganby, near York, is one of the best kept secrets in coarse fishing. Two fully-naturalised, well-established ponds, surrounded by enchanting Yorkshire countryside. Fishing doesn’t come any more relaxing than this.

Sixty-two pegs, spread over two ponds, gives you the choice to fish small or big, depending on your mood.

Woodside pond is intimate, without the feeling that you are fishing on top of the next peg, whilst Murphy’s pond offers a big pond experience without sacrificing those tucked-away nooks and crannies, where all the best fish lie up. Something for the match, specimen and pleasure angler.

Barbless hools only

All landing nets must be dipped

No night fishing

No fires on the site

No litter or disguarded tackle (please put litter/disguarded tackle in allocated bins or take it home with you)

No cigarette ends and spent matches to be left on the site

No unaccompanied children

Anglers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult

No bloodworm

No tinned pet food

No ground bait, no nuts

No dogs allowed on the site

Keep nets only allowed for competition matches, site nets will be provided for these events

Anglers must remain in the vacinity of the ponds

Anglers must vacate the site at nightfall

Cars must be parked in the designated car parks

No boats

No bait boats

Unhooking mats must be used for Carp

No antisocial behaviour

Rods must not be left unattended
