    Rules

The following rules apply to the Osprey, Kingfisher and Heron Lakes.

    • Barbless Hooks only. Anyone found using barbed hooks will be disqualified from the match and banned for life from the whole fishery. Maximum Hook Size 12.
    • All matches are weighed in by our own bailiffs; anglers are requested not to remove their keepnets prior to the weigh in. Anyone lifting his/her net to inspect the catch will be disqualified. It is very IMPORTANT that all members be made aware of this rule. The reason for this rule is to ensure that no unnecessary damage is done to our fish stocks by bad or inexperienced handling.
    • Pellets are allowed but they must be our own. A variety of sinkers or floaters are available from the Bait and Tackle shop or the Café. Hook pellets are included in this rule. Prepared hook pellets are available and the floating pellets can be used as hook bait after being pellet pumped.
    • Floating baits are no longer allowed, this includes the feeding of floating baits.
    • No Cat Food or Dog Food.
    • Methods such as floating pole are allowed, however the bait must be presented below the surface.
    • Due to the relative ineffectiveness of casual net dipping we would request anglers to ensure that their nets are thoroughly dried prior to use on our lakes.
    • No litter, as per N.F.A. rules, litter in peg means that the angler will not be weighed in.
    • Dead fish will not be weighed – this is to encourage anglers to take care when unhooking fish.

THESE RULES ARE IMPOSED SO AS TO PROTECT THE FISH, THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE SERIOUS ANGLER.

ANY FLOUTING OF THEM WILL BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY.
