We made another trip out to Leonard Johns Park in Flower Mound to find some trout. Caught 2 tiny ones. 2oz. About 7” long. All reports we are getting is this is the size everyone is catching. It’s fishing so if course it’s still fun!

Made another trip out to a park in Flower Mound with my buddy Scott in the cold dreary wet day. Still no elusive rainbow trout for us. Scott has fished everyday since it was stocked with no luck. Two folks near us caught two very small trout. Not nearly the 12” ones we read they stocked around the area. I managed to catch a catfish at least. It’s tough trying to catch these farm raised trout in murky water, but we’ll figure it out. Life is still better outside!

Good times at a small pond on the lease near Valley View, TX. Little pond but I put the boat in so I could get back to the brush areas. Caught 3 bass over 2 lbs, a couple of smaller bass and some green sunfish. Now that’s a good day.

Nice morning in the Louisiana marsh with my bro in law. Only caught one small bass. He caught a few. The gar were feisty, aggressive, nasty and tearing up our lures. Saw some wildlife. Saw some gators. Good day.

Not the best conditions for bass fishing. Hot, blue sky, bright sun, no wind, water super clear and absolutely calm, not even a ripple. Even the bull was like “Bro, what are you doing? The cows are laying down in the shade. Why are you here???” Managed to pull up one 1 lb 10 oz bass. One is better than none!

Nice day on the lease near Valley View, TX before the heat kicked in. Some good old top water frog and spinnerbait action over the massive amount of of grass beds there. Caught 13 small bass and 3 big chunky green sunfish. Life is better outside.

Headed out to the lease near Decatur TX today. Grass is thick but it’s a top water paradise. Fish were moving and jumping all over. Missed several. Lost 2. Caught 11. Then the heat ran me off. 4 of them were 2+ lbs. It was a fun day!

Neighbor Scott called and asked if I wanted to check out his setup at the marina and go for a ride. Unexpected fishing trip since the weather was supposed to be bad. Nice boat, great setup, caught some sand bass. Fun stuff!
