Goldenloch
Dec-03rd-Week-50-2017

Another Christmas fast approaches, with it a new fishing season, 2018, what this one will bring, is anybodies guess, But we know we have a season of changes coming, work on the bank alongside the replaced jetties, many more anglers need vehicle access, the grass road was not suitable in the wet season that we have just had, thank goodness we put in a hard road at the boat jetty, the water outflow was upgraded and replaced, with it, a more suitable bio secure grid system, we plan to have a new and bigger more suitable lodge, with somewhere nice to sit and eat, change clothes, a kitchen and nicer toilet facility, Over the years we have introduced mains water, drainage and electricity, soon at the loch we will have Wi-Fi and this will open up a new world in camera technology, hopefully allowing clients to view from there phones the weather conditions and how busy we are, we have also got some major plans for what to do with the loch and the fishing, which will be made clear soon, but this has been a funny week, thin ice and no wind, breaking the ice would have been a waste of time as without a breeze it would just lie on the surface, however a few ventured out and I would say did pretty well, John McClelland, Lochgelly with his brother Eddie, had a pleasant and interesting day, although very cold, John landed in his bag a very fit and healthy 3>4 lb rainbow plus he lost quite a few, regular Stewart Milne, Glenrothes fishing between the ice flows, had a slow start this week, but ended up with 5, but he said every fish was in excess of 3 lbs, all returned, also he had several hard knocks. Sandy Drummond also enjoyed his very cold visit. Prices for the moment, 2018, remain unchanged, by keeping my day ticket prices to make affordable fishing, £15 for a half day, £20 for a full day, we have also decided to scrap the summer season tickets, our reason is simple, we were making little or no money from them, instead we will go back to offering block ticket purchase buy 5 get one free or buy 10 get two free, Books with redeemable tickets will be supplied, either in ½ or full day form, there is a two fold reason for this firstly it stops too much Catch and Release, allowing fresh fish to be introduced more often, secondly a better control of how long sessions are the ½ day ticket is 5 hours maximum and the day ticket is up to 8 hours, anglers expect a fishery to be 100% top quality and that’s our goal,
